How to drink more water: Bottles and other products that can help

One of my New Year’s resolutions is to drink more water. However, five days into 2022, I realize that a busy schedule and forgetful habits make the whole water intake thing a little harder than I thought.
But I’ll try to stick to my goals — after all, it seems like a great way to feel healthier, reduce dehydration-related headaches, and maybe even get some glowing skin in the process.
Linda Anegawa, a double board-certified physician in internal medicine and obesity medicine and the medical director of PlushCare, told The Huffington Post that drinking the right amount of water is indeed necessary to maintain a certain level of health.
Anegawa explains that we have two main ways of storing water in our bodies: extracellular storage outside the cell, and intracellular storage inside the cell.
“Our bodies are very protective of the extracellular supply,” she said.”This is because we need a certain amount of fluid to pump blood into our bodies. Without this fluid, our vital organs simply cannot function and can lead to severe drops in blood pressure, shock and even organ failure.” Fluid is important for “maintaining the normal function of all cells and tissues.”
Anegawa also says that drinking enough water can boost our energy levels and immune system, and also help avoid problems like bladder infections and kidney stones.
But how much water is “enough”?The standard guideline of 8 cups a day is a reasonable rule of thumb for most people, Anegawa said.
This is true even in winter, when people may not realize they are prone to dehydration.
“Dry air and lower humidity in winter can lead to increased evaporation of water, which can lead to dehydration,” Anegawa said.
Tracking how much water you consume each day can be difficult. But we’ve used Anegawa’s tips and tricks to wrap up some tools that might be able to keep your hydration on track and hopefully make you feel better in the process.Drink up!
